A 12-week private 1-on-1 online cubing coaching program

The Cube Confidence Club Private Coaching Program

Twelve weeks of private coaching, supervised practice and structured progression — designed around one student rather than a fixed curriculum.

  • 12 Weeks
  • Private 1-on-1
  • Ages 8+
  • Application only

12-Week Architecture

Five adaptive phases, not a fixed curriculum.

The sequence is stable. The content inside each phase is decided by what the student actually needs.

  1. Phase 1 · Weeks 1–2

    Understand

Establish current ability, observe solves, understand personal goals, assess beginner method or CFOP knowledge, measure Ao5/Ao12 where appropriate, identify primary bottlenecks and set practice expectations.

    Deliverable: Individual Cubing Development Map

  2. Phase 2 · Weeks 3–5

    Build

Develop the missing technical skills. A beginner path may run Layer-by-Layer independence → Cross → F2L foundations → 2-Look OLL → 2-Look PLL. An intermediate path may focus on F2L, full PLL, Cross planning and recognition.

    Deliverable: Clear technical milestones

  3. Phase 3 · Weeks 6–8

    Practise

Convert knowledge into fluency with a strong emphasis on supervised practice: repetition, drills, recognition, slow solves, timed solves, video analysis, live correction and consistency training.

Deliverable: Learning introduces the skill. Practice makes it usable.

  4. Phase 4 · Weeks 9–10

    Accelerate

With technique stable, reduce pauses, improve transitions, Cross, F2L and PLL recognition, develop look-ahead and controlled turning, and track Ao5 and Ao12. The final performance goal is refined or established here.

    Deliverable: Agreed performance direction

  5. Phase 5 · Weeks 11–12

    Perform

Work toward the agreed benchmark: independent solve, F2L mastery, full PLL demonstration, an improved Ao12, a personal time target, competition simulation or first-competition preparation.

Deliverable: Final Performance Review + 90-Day Next-Step Roadmap

Starting From Zero

A complete beginner should not be thinking about thirty-five seconds on day one.

The first milestone is independent solving. Speed follows structure, not the other way around.

  1. Stage 1

    Independent Solving

    Milestone: Independent 3×3 solve

A structured Layer-by-Layer beginner method: notation, centres, edges, corners, recognising piece locations, first layer, middle layer, last-layer orientation, last-layer completion, and recovering from common mistakes.

    • Basic notation
    • First layer
    • Middle layer
    • Last layer
    • Solving without prompts
  2. Stage 2

    Transition Into CFOP

    Milestone: Cross → F2L → OLL → PLL as a framework

Once independent solving is secure, the student moves toward a more efficient Cross, intuitive F2L, pairing and inserting, 2-Look OLL, 2-Look PLL, basic finger tricks and cleaner turning.

    • Efficient Cross
    • Intuitive F2L
    • 2-Look OLL
    • 2-Look PLL
    • Fewer rotations
  3. Stage 3

    CFOP Development

Milestone: The next highest-value skill, chosen individually

Possible areas include full PLL, expanded OLL, Cross planning, Cross + first pair, advanced F2L, recognition, look-ahead, controlled turning and algorithm execution. The student does not need to learn everything.

    • Full PLL
    • Expanded OLL
    • Look-ahead
    • Recognition
    • Execution
  4. Stage 4

    Personal Performance Goal

Milestone: A benchmark developed from real training data

Only once the coach understands learning speed, motivation, practice habits, current Ao5/Ao12, recognition, retention, technical ability and response to timing is a final performance goal agreed.

    • First independent solve
    • Sub-90 / Sub-60
    • Sub-45 / Sub-35
    • Consistency
    • Competition preparation

CFOP is taught as a framework, not a memorisation race. Algorithm depth depends on age, readiness, interest, current level, practice consistency and personal goals. No beginner is expected to memorise all fifty-seven OLL algorithms within twelve weeks.

The final performance goal is not imposed before we understand the student. It is developed through the training process.

Already Solving?

Start From Where You Are.

Many students arrive already able to solve. They are not looking for another tutorial — they want to know which skill to build next, and whether they are building it correctly.

I want to learn F2L.

I want to learn full PLL.

I want to stop pausing.

I want to get faster.

I want to improve my Cross.

I want to learn look-ahead.

I want to compete.

I want to get under one minute.

I want to reach forty-five seconds.

I want to reach thirty-five seconds.

The Private Coaching Program is personalised rather than a rigid pre-recorded curriculum. A student who wants full PLL does not need the same program as a student learning their first solve.

What Is Included

A private development system, not a set of lessons.

The information is not the expensive part. The individual diagnosis, implementation, correction and progression are the service.

Private Student Consultation

A parent and child consultation to understand goals, observe starting ability, determine fit and discuss training expectations.

Private Cubing Performance Assessment

An educational, coaching-based review of current method, solve structure, Cross, F2L, OLL, PLL, pauses, recognition, turning, mistakes, consistency and practice habits. This is not a psychological, medical, neurological or diagnostic assessment.

Individual Cubing Development Map

A personalised roadmap of what will be learned, in what order, and why.

Private 1-on-1 Coaching

Technical instruction and ongoing diagnosis with the coach, not a pre-recorded curriculum.

Supervised Practice Sessions

Live practice with real-time correction, so habits are shaped while they are still forming.

Personalised Drills

Student-specific exercises assigned between sessions and reviewed afterwards.

Video Review

Submitted solve footage reviewed technically within agreed limits. This is not unlimited 24/7 access.

Progress Tracking

Ao5, Ao12, technical milestones, algorithms mastered, F2L development, Cross consistency, pauses, recognition and practice completion.

Parent Progress Communication

What is improving, what is currently limiting progress, what is being practised and what the next milestone is.

Training Equipment

Premium but practical: a personally configured speed cube, backup cube, timer, mat, phone recording stand, training journal and storage case.

Final Performance Review

A structured comparison of the baseline with current ability at the end of the cycle.

90-Day Continuation Roadmap

A clear next path once the 12-week cycle is complete.

Who It Is For

A student who wants this.

Families who value highly personalised instruction and are willing to invest seriously in a child’s chosen interest. Primary student age: ages 8+.

  • Already loves cubing
  • Already solves and wants to progress
  • Wants to start learning CFOP
  • Wants to learn F2L
  • Wants to learn OLL
  • Wants to learn full PLL
  • Wants to become faster
  • Wants more structure
  • Has plateaued
  • Wants to compete
  • Enjoys difficult skill mastery
  • Is ready for regular practice

Who It Is Not For

When we would say no.

There is no judgement in this list. Private coaching is simply the wrong tool in these situations, and we would rather say so early.

  • The child has no interest in cubing
  • The activity is being pushed by the parent rather than chosen by the child
  • The family wants guaranteed results without practice
  • The family wants occasional drop-in tutoring
  • The student is not willing to practise in a structured way
  • The family is searching for the cheapest hourly tutor

Private Coaching

A Personalized Program for Your Child.

Each student receives a training plan built around their current level, goals, and progress.

12 Weeks · Private 1-on-1 · Online

Program details and scheduling are discussed after the initial call.

How It Works

Start With a Conversation.

Every child is different. We first learn about your child, their current level, and what they want to achieve.

  1. Book a Call

Tell us about your child, their current cubing level, and their goals.

  2. Get a Free Trial Session

Your child tries a session and we see the best way to help them improve.

  3. Build the Training Plan

If it is a good fit, we create a personalized plan for your child.

Private 1-on-1 · Online · Personalized Coaching

Skill first. Speed second. Mastery throughout.

The Goal Is Not Simply to Solve the Cube.

The goal is to become a cuber. Someone who understands what they are doing. Someone who knows how to practise. Someone who can identify mistakes. Someone who can learn increasingly advanced techniques. Someone who has a next goal.

Applications are reviewed individually before a private consultation is offered.
